winding road
I am traveling down a long and winding road
passing by the alligators & toads
reared off into a swamp
where the murk & mire
is there & the sticks are there to goad
I am in transition
changing modes
writing this story
that remains untold
the pages I fold & unfold
the monotony clouds my skull
my brain is overwhelmed
my spiritual fluids overflow
my heart rate gets slow
I am drifting away
into the darkness
as the weeping willows sway
